Beth Bechdol to Speak at the AT&T IoT Civic Hackathon

Beth Bechdol, the Director of Agribusiness Strategies at Ice Miller and President and CEO of AgriNovus Indiana, will be a speaker at the upcoming AT&T Internet of Things (IoT) Civic Hackathon on April 21 and 22 at Launch Fishers in Fishers, Ind.

Beth will be speaking on food and agricultural innovation and the connections to the IoT during the two-day event, in which attendees will create apps and hardware solutions aimed at improving manufacturing, logistics and agriculture in Indiana. Sponsors will challenge participants to use government data to build IoT applications.

Born and raised on her family’s corn and soybean farm in Auburn, Ind., Beth has a lifetime of knowledge of agriculture and its importance to the Hoosier state. Her public service in agriculture and trade/farm policy experience extends to her work in Washington, D.C., where she served in key roles at the U.S. Department of Agriculture and on the Senate Agriculture Committee under Indiana Senator Richard G. Lugar. Beth also served as the deputy director of the Indiana State Department of Agriculture (ISDA) where she helped craft the strategic plan for Indiana agriculture put forward by then-Governor Mitch Daniels. She was also involved in various agricultural trade missions for the state.

Ice Miller is proud to sponsor the first IoT Civic Hackathon, and we look forward to hearing Beth speak on the intersection of agriculture and technology.
