Evaluations and Compensation

Summer clerks receive feedback on projects from several attorneys. Every lawyer who assigns a project to you will complete a written evaluation of your work. At the conclusion of the project, they will meet with you to discuss it.

Also, on a weekly basis you will meet individually with a different member of the Personnel Committee to discuss any evaluations that were completed that week. This meeting also gives you the opportunity to meet one-on-one with the people who comprise our hiring committee.

Each clerk will also have a formal mid-summer and end-of-summer meeting with the chair of the summer program. All evaluations completed up to that time are discussed at these meetings.

Associate offers for second year clerks, and offers to first year clerks for second year summer clerk positions, are extended after the conclusion of the summer program.

It hardly seems right to pay you for having such a good experience, but we do!

Summer clerks are paid $1,900 per week. In addition, second year summer clerks receive a $2,000 starting bonus in late April.

You will also receive a complimentary membership at the National Institute of Fitness and Sport located in the lobby of our building.
