Q. What does diversity mean to Ice Miller?
A: At Ice Miller, we believe diversity is recognizing that there is value and strength in the differences among us. Q:What do new associates do all day?
A:We expose associates to clients very early in their careers.  You won't be stuck in the library all day doing research-you'll be working closely with partners and clients.

Q:Will I do anything besides legal work?
A:Absolutely!  New associates at Ice Miller LLP serve as summer clerk team members and assist with the fall recruiting process.  They also serve on some of the Firm's committees and are involved in business development.

Q:Who runs the firm on a daily basis?
A:Ice Miller has a Chief Managing Partner and two Deputy Managing Partners who make the day to day decisions regarding the Firm. Our Chief Operating Office along with a number of committees, each serving different functions, are responsible for such things as technology, personnel, attorney reviews, diversity and professional development to name a few.

Q:How is work allocated to new associates?
A:Each practice group has their own system for the distribution of work.  Some groups allow associates to work for all the partners and monitor workloads by requiring that weekly forecast sheets be turned into the section chair.  Other groups assign associates to work with three to four partners.  Regardless of the practice group in which you work , there are people monitoring your workload.

Q:What is the billable hour requirement?
A.Full-time associates are expected to produce at least 1,850 annual client chargeable hours. In addition, based on an associates level in the Firm, there is a Professional Development hours requirement.
