Our summer program highlights the best of Ice Miller. It gives us the chance to show you our firm and why it is more than a quality law firm, it's family. 

The summer program gives first and second year law students a hands-on, real world look at who we are and what we do. You'll meet our lawyers and our clients. Like many large firms, the work you do at Ice Miller will be sophisticated legal work, but our people make all the difference.

Our summer clerks work on actual client matters and attend client meetings, depositions, transaction closings, hearings, and other out-of-office activities. At the conclusion of the summer program, we want you to leave Ice Miller with a realistic view of what it's like to practice law with us.

First year clerks work in a specific practice group for the summer. This allows us to utilize most effectively the skills learned during your first year of law school while exposing you to the opportunities and projects of one of our practice groups.

Our second year program is intended to provide both broad exposure to various practice areas and an intensive experience with either a transactional or litigation focus. This opportunity gives second year clerks a better understanding of a "day in the life" in their desired area of practice.
