Launches Ice Miller's Property Tax Appeal Efforts
in Illinois
Former Chair of the
DuPage County Board Re-Joins Firm Full
Time
Robert
Schillerstrom, a partner in Ice Miller's
Public Affairs Group, has re-joined the Firm full
time to launch the Firm's property
tax appeal efforts in Illinois. He
previously served three terms as Chairman of the
DuPage County Board. As Chairman,
Schillerstrom earned a reputation
for reducing property taxes; lowering county
property taxes nine out of 12 years, and
consistently doing more for the taxpayers of
DuPage County with less money.
Ice
Miller's diverse public affairs team has over 130
years of collective experience at the local, state
and federal levels. Members of our staff have
served in the executive, legislative and judicial
branches, including serving as key staff aides to
several governors, as well as serving in the
Indiana and Illinois state legislatures. In
addition, the Firm has employed a number of
elected and appointed state and federal
officials. Schillerstrom will counsel
the Firm's public affairs clients on a number of
matters including: campaign finance and election
law compliance, community relations,
lobbying/public affairs and strategic public
policy development.
In
addition, Schillerstrom
will help develop the Firm's property
tax appeals practice in Illinois. The
Firm currently represents a broad range of clients
including commercial developers and industry
property owners, multi-unit owners as well as
large multi-national corporations with operations
in Illinois and Indiana.
Schillerstrom
has lived and practiced law in DuPage County
throughout his adulthood. He graduated from
Naperville Community High School and went on to
earn a bachelor's degree in religion and history
from Illinois College in Jacksonville, Ill.,
graduating with high honors and as a member of Phi
Beta Kappa. He earned his law degree from the
Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago-Kent
College of Law with honors. After graduating from
law school, he served in the DuPage County State's
Attorney's Office, prosecuting cases in the
Criminal Division as an assistant state's attorney
from 1980-1983. Prior to joining Ice Miller,
Schillerstrom was in the private practice of law
in Naperville for over 20
years.
