Indiana Legislative Interim Study Committee Assignments Announced
The Indiana Legislative Council (Council) convened on May 22, 2008, to adopt Resolution 08-01, assigning various topics for study by legislative interim committees and requiring the committees to submit findings and results to the Council by November 1, 2008.
Interim committees created by the Council are composed of twelve (12) voting members, with six (6) appointed from the House by the Chairman of the Council, Speaker of the House Pat Bauer, and six (6) appointed from the Senate by the Vice-Chairman of the Council, President Pro Tem David Long. Appointments from each chamber shall be divided equally between the two major political parties. Chairman Bauer and
Vice-Chairman Long may each appoint non-legislators to serve as non-voting members of a committee.
