M&A Deal Volume Reached $308.3B So Far in 2015, Up 8% Over Year
U.S. announced deal volume reached $308.3 billion this year through March 13, up eight percent from the same period last year, according to Dealogic. Only twice has U.S. mergers-and-acquisitions activity gotten off to a stronger start.

Tax Code Fosters Loss of U.S. Businesses Through M&A, Study Finds
The American tax code has spurred a rash of foreign takeovers of U.S. companies, according to a new study released by a prominent business lobby. The study released by the Business Roundtable asserted that the U.S. has lost $179 billion in assets over the last decade on mergers and acquisitions, at least in part because of its comparatively high corporate tax rate of 35 percent.

Health Systems Try New Methods to Raise Venture Capital
A few academic medical centers, physician networks and health plans are thinking differently about venture capital by coming up with new ways to spark health care entrepreneurship. For example, one health system, instead of hearing product pitches from vendors, is gathering entrepreneurs together to sell them on the idea of building a specific platform to meet its needs, while another is holding "office hours" to allow medical students, residents, nurses or administration staff from any organization to come and talk with hospital admins about ideas for improving the system.
