Ice Miller Expands Utility Practice
Ice Miller Welcomes Michael Cracraft, Philip McKiernan and Steven Krohne
Indianapolis, Ind. - Ice Miller LLP is pleased to announce that Michael Cracraft, Philip McKiernan and Steven Krohne will join the firm as partners in the Energy and Utilities Group. These seasoned attorneys will provide Ice Miller with an additional 80 years of collective experience in this particular area of the law. Cracraft, McKiernan and Krohne will also bring added depth from a business as well as a legal perspective, to enable the Ice Miller team to represent all types of utility clients in all matters.

is a partner who concentrates his Utilities' practice primarily in the areas of energy, water, communications, telecommunications and administrative law. Michael has tried numerous rate cases for electric, gas, steam, water and sewer companies before the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission. He has handled many other types of administrative litigation, including state and local tax matters, utility territorial disputes, financing proceedings, acquisitions, gas cost adjustments, fuel cost adjustments, certificates of public convenience and necessity for electric generating facilities and administrative agency rulemakings.
Philip B. McKiernan
is a partner who practices in the area of energy and utilities law, advising and representing utilities and other types of regulated business. Phil has extensive experience advising water, sewer and gas distribution utilities concerning regulatory requirements and has represented them before the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission. Phil also represents interstate natural gas and other types of pipelines operating in Indiana. He has represented those and other clients in connection with permitting, enforcement and other matters arising under environmental protection laws.
Steven W. Krohne
is a partner who concentrates his practice primarily in the areas of utility, energy, telecommunications and administrative law. In particular, he has represented gas, electric, steam, water and sewer utilities, as well as telecommunications providers in various proceedings for regulatory approvals before the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission, including rate cases, innovative rate design cases, certificate of public convenience and necessity cases, complaint cases, investigation proceedings, declination of jurisdiction proceedings, energy efficiency and demand response matters, annexation and territory matters, as well as, mergers and acquisitions. Steven also has been involved in appeals of utility matters to the Indiana Court of Appeals and provides counsel on a broad range of issues to energy and water/wastewater clients.
