Ice Miller Partner Brian Crist Elected to American College of Real Estate Lawyers
National organization elects Indianapolis-based attorney as fellow
Ice Miller is pleased to announce that Brian Crist, a partner in the Real Estate Group, has been elected a Fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers. The invitation-only national organization selects attorneys based on their skill, experience and high standards of professional and ethical conduct.
“To be recognized by the College at such an early stage in Brian’s career speaks volumes about the sophisticated real estate deals that he handles on behalf of our clients,” said Steve Humke, chief managing partner at Ice Miller. “Brian is a leader in his field, and I am pleased to see him elected by his peers to this prestigious organization.”
The election to the College’s Class of 2016 followed a rigorous screening process. Crist received multiple recommendations from College members across the country and met the College’s stringent membership criteria.
In his role as a Fellow of the College, Crist will be responsible for authoring materials and making national presentations to the College members on current and leading edge topics in real estate law.

is a partner at Ice Miller and concentrates his practice in guiding clients through all aspects of complex transactions. He represents and counsels clients on all facets of the acquisition, disposition, redevelopment, leasing and financing of commercial real estate assets across the country.
Crist provides counsel to many retail, office, industrial and multi-family developers and property owners. Recently, he represented a publicly-traded REIT in the $307 million acquisition of ten retail shopping centers in the southeast and its merger with a private REIT that significantly expanded its geographic holdings.
His legal practice includes extensive experience in advising clients with respect to public-private partnerships and public infrastructure transactions. He negotiated and closed on the acquisition of state owned right of way for the redevelopment of a condemned bridge as a private toll bridge on behalf of a private investment fund. In Citizens Energy Group’s $2 billion acquisition of the City of Indianapolis’ sewer and water system and $88 million acquisition of the City of Westfield’s sewer and water system, Brian provided advice with respect to real estate, financing, environmental and risk mitigation issues. Brian also served as primary real estate counsel for the State of Indiana and the Indiana Finance Authority in the concession of the Indiana Toll Road and the Ohio River Bridges Project.
