Ice Miller Partner John Hammond Presented with Award for Ethical Principles
Ice Miller LLP congratulates partner John Hammond for being honored by the Governmental Affairs Society of Indiana with the Allen C. Steere award. The award is presented to members or former members of the Society who personify the standards of conduct contained in its Statement of Ethical Principles. The Governmental Affairs Society of Indiana has only presented the award to 17 recipients in the past 30 years.
John was presented with the Allen C. Steere award at the Governmental Affairs Society of Indiana's annual conference on Sept. 15, 2016.
“We’re thrilled that John was presented with this award, which recognizes the outstanding level of integrity that John holds himself to as an attorney, and as co-chair of our group,” said Lacy Johnson,
co-chair of Ice Miller’s Public Affairs and Gaming group.
John Hammond joins Ice Miller's two previous award recipients, Directors of Public Affairs Anne Doran and Lesa Dietrick, who received the award in 2007 and 2013, respectively, and were the first two women to receive the award.
As a veteran of Indiana state government, John has helped shape a wide variety of public policy areas, including tax , environmental management, education, tort reform, transportation, insurance and economic development.
The Allen C. Steere award was established by Lincoln Financial Group at the time the Governmental Affairs Society of Indiana was organized in 1982. Allen C. Steere was a recognized leader of governmental affairs at all levels of government, and was the first honorary member of the Society. Allen’s career, which spanned almost 40 years with Lincoln National, is said to represent the embodiment of the Society’s Statement of Ethical Principles.
