Ice Miller Partner Joins American Red Cross Board of Directors
COLUMBUS, OH – Ice Miller LLP is pleased to announce that Partner Albert Lin has been added to the American Red Cross’ board of directors for the Ohio Buckeye Region, which covers 45 counties across Ohio from Toledo to Marietta, and includes the Columbus, Ohio metropolitan area. As a member of the board of directors, Lin will join other local business leaders in guiding the mission to prevent and relieve suffering, locally at home and around the world.
“The American Red Cross is an organization Ice Miller attorneys have proudly supported for years,” said Richard A. Barnhart, managing partner of Ice Miller. “As a member of the Ohio Buckeye Region Board of Directors, Albert will have a leading hand in building communities through this impactful organization.”
Over the past year, the American Red Cross Ohio Buckeye Region responded to more than 1,140 local disasters, including home fires, and assisted nearly 1,500 families with their immediate needs. It trained nearly 50,000 community members in lifesaving skills such as First Aid, CPR, AED and aquatics, and provided more than 13,000 trips for seniors and people with disabilities to medical and other important appointments. It also provided more than 3,400 services to members of the military community and their families.
Earlier this year, the Ohio Buckeye Region launched Project Prepare, a two-year initiative that seeks to prepare a half million Ohio residents by making emergency plans, building kits and getting trained ahead of disasters. The program has already prepared nearly 200,000 community members.
