Professional Experience:
Nate Uhl is a partner in Ice Miller’s Business Litigation Group, practicing primarily in the areas of construction, manufacturing, and products liability litigation. In addition, he has extensive experience handling electronic discovery issues.
Construction Litigation. Uhl has experience in the core areas of construction law, including mediating and litigating construction defect claims and representing owners and contractors in mechanic's lien disputes. He has been involved in a variety of cases including disputes regarding roofing materials, concrete, reinforcing steel, subsidence, and mold. Uhl also has experience drafting and negotiating construction contracts for owners, construction managers, general contractors and subcontractors.
Manufacturing Litigation. Uhl has litigated numerous cases dealing with the manufacturing industry, including disputes regarding the installation and performance of manufacturing equipment and breach of warranty claims related to the sale of goods governed by the Uniform Commercial Code. Uhl also has experience drafting and negotiating sale of goods contracts and contracts related to the sale and installation of manufacturing equipment.
Products Liability Litigation. Uhl has defended clients in an assortment of matters alleging injury due to defective products. These matters include cases dealing with pharmaceutical products, construction materials, and vehicle components.
Electronic Discovery. Uhl has assisted clients with various e-discovery issues, including preserving electronic documents, producing databases, and managing massive document reviews and productions. He is a frequent speaker on e-discovery topics.
Uhl earned his bachelor of arts, cum laude, from Hanover College in 2001 where he received the Distinguished Award for Political Science. While an undergraduate, he studied at the Engalitcheff Institute on Comparative Economic and Political Systems at Georgetown University. He received his juris doctorate, cum laude, from the Indiana University School of Law-Bloomington in 2004 where he served on the Moot Court Board and as a managing editor for the Indiana Journal for Global Legal Studies.
He is admitted to practice law in the State of Indiana, the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of Indiana.
