Professional Experience:
Amy Weir joined Ice Miller LLP in 2007 and works in the Labor Group concentrating in immigration law. She assists attorneys with client matters for employment-based immigration cases.
Prior to joining Ice Miller, Weir worked at an Indianapolis based immigration law firm. While there, she assisted attorneys with client matters for both business and family based immigration cases. She worked primarily with cases involving adjustment of status to permanent residence, temporary employment authorization, and F-1 student and SEVIS matters.
Weir is a former foreign student advisor and assistant director of the multicultural office at Hanover College. She has advised American students wishing to study abroad, international students studying in the U.S., and American ethnic minority students striving to keep their traditions alive.
She earned a master's degree in comparative world religions from Harvard Divinity School and a bachelor's degree in English with minors in religion and east Asian Studies from Wittenberg University. In addition, she has worked in Japan, teaching English for two years with the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program.
