Professional Experience:
Rebecca Sczepanski concentrates her practice in the employee benefits area. She advises clients on the design, formation and administration of 401(k), 403(b), pension, health and welfare, and cafeteria plans. She also counsels clients regarding pharmacy benefits management contracts, fiduciary and investment issues, and third party administrator agreements.
Prior to joining Ice Miller, Sczepanski was general counsel at Employee Health Insurance Management, Inc., a pharmacy benefits manager and third party administrator in Southfield, Mich. She has also been a vice president in the Institutional Trust Department of Comerica Bank, focusing on employee benefit trust, retirement plan administration and investment issues, and has worked as an attorney at both Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss, P.C. and Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP in Detroit, Mich., where she focused her practice on employee benefits issues.
She is also a certified public accountant and, prior to attending law school, worked as a staff accountant at the Rehmann Group and at Cantwell, Cummins & Co. PC, in Michigan. While with those firms, she provided retirement plan recordkeeping, corporate and individual tax, and auditing services to clients.
Sczepanski earned her juris doctorate from Wayne State University in Detroit, Mich. where she graduated cum laude and earned numerous honors and scholarships. She earned her Bachelors of Business Administration from Saginaw Valley State University, where she graduated magna cum laude with a major in accounting.
