Full Biography: Michael Edward Millikan
Michael is a partner and founding member of the Firm's Private Equity and Venture Services Group. Michael's primary areas of concentration are in venture capital and private equity financing and mergers and acquisitions. He also focuses on representing high energy entrepreneurial companies in strategic planning, raising money and achieving growth through acquisitions. Michael's experiences include representing private equity clients in numerous equity and mezzanine investments, serving as general counsel to many of his private equity clients' portfolio companies and assisting family-owned businesses in succession planning including sale transactions.
Michael is originally from Indianapolis and received his bachelor of arts from Villanova University in 1994, where he studied business, history and Japanese. After college, Michael spent a year in Tokyo, Japan, teaching English to Japanese high school students. After taking a slight detour through Europe, Michael returned to Indianapolis to attend law school. In 1998, he received his juris doctorate from Indiana University School of Law, Indianapolis. He worked as a clerk for Ice Miller in both 1997 and 1998 before joining Ice Miller full time in August, 1998. When he is not working, Michael enjoys playing golf, watching the Colts and Pacers and traveling.
He is admitted to practice law in the State of Indiana.
