Full Biography: Craig C. Burke
Craig concentrates his practice in the area of employee benefits and compensation. He assists a variety of privately-held and publicly traded clients in the design and implementation of benefit plans and compensation arrangements. He devotes a majority of his practice to the tax, legal and design issues associated with 401(k) plans, employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs), pension and profit-sharing plans, health and welfare plans, cafeteria plans, as well as executive compensation, change in control and deferred compensation agreements and equity-based incentive compensation arrangements (such as stock options (ISOs and NSOs), restricted stock and restricted stock units, phantom stock and stock purchase plans). He is a frequent speaker on these subjects.
Craig also counsels clients on benefit plan compliance and tax-qualification issues, fiduciary issues, and compliance with tax, pension and securities laws related to such arrangements. He assists clients with the employee benefit issues related to business combinations and divestitures.
He earned his J.D. from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana, where he graduated magna cum laude in 1994. He was a member of the Indiana Law Journal and was appointed to the Order of the Coif.
Prior to attending law school, Craig worked as a certified public accountant (CPA) with Ernst & Young, concentrating in the area of corporate and individual income taxation.
A native of New Albany, Indiana, Craig joined Ice Miller in 1994 and is admitted to practice law in the State of Indiana.
