Full Biography: Katrina M. Clingerman

Katrina Clingerman concentrates her practice on employee benefit issues for state and local governmental employers. She works with governmental employers and retirement plans across the country, and consults on a variety of pension and health benefit matters. In addition, she has worked on a variety of IRS private letter rulings on behalf of public retirement systems.

Prior to joining the Employee Benefits Group, Ms. Clingerman was a member of the Ice Miller tax group and concentrated her practice on corporate and tax issues affecting nonprofit and tax-exempt entities with matters ranging from incorporation and application for tax-exemption to ongoing management and compliance issues. Ms. Clingerman has written articles and spoken on a variety of tax issues, most recently advising tax-exempt organization and their governing bodies regarding the federal and state tax implications of their activities.

Ms. Clingerman is originally from Indianapolis, Indiana. She received her B.A. summa cum laude in 1993 from DePauw University, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. In 1999, Ms. Clingerman earned her J.D. cum laude from Indiana University School of Law, Indianapolis. While attending law school, she received the Forrest E. Jump Scholar Award and served as Note Development Editor for the Indiana Law Review.

Ms. Clingerman joined Ice Miller in April 1999. She is admitted to practice law in the state of Indiana. She is active in the Indianapolis Bar Association, where she completed the Bar Leader Series and serves on the Tax Section Executive Committee. She is also a member of the American Bar Association and the Indiana State Bar Association. She currently serves on the board of directors of Youth as Resources of Marion County.
