Professional Experience:
Margaret Emmert is of counsel in the Firms Health Care/Transactions Group. Her practice includes a focus on federal and state regulatory issues, contracts, hospital and individual practitioner practice issues, joint ventures, fraud and abuse issues, HIPAA, EMTALA, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, and FDA and clinical trial issues.

Prior to joining Ice Miller, Emmert was employed as a registered nurse specializing in emergency medicine.

Emmert attended Indiana University - Bloomington for her undergraduate studies, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing, with high distinction, in 1987. She also earned her juris doctorate from Indiana University School of Law-Bloomington, graduating cum laude in 2001. While attending law school, she was a member of the Indiana Journal of Global Legal Studies.

Emmert initially joined Ice Miller in August 2001. She spent two years as assistant general counsel at Community Health Network in Indianapolis and rejoined Ice Miller in July of 2008. Emmert is admitted to practice in Indiana.
