April is a partner at Ice Miller. April's practice focuses on all aspects of commercial real estate transactions. April represents and advises clients with respect to the acquisition, disposition, development, redevelopment, leasing, financing, operation and management of office, industrial, multi-family and retail projects across the United States. Her clients include owners, landlords, tenants, operators, developers, investors, colleges and universities, military base reuse authorities, governmental entities, and real estate investment trusts.

April has provided counsel to a publicly-traded real estate investment trust with respect to several retail projects, including serving as lead counsel with respect to its acquisition, disposition and financing of over 20 retail shopping centers located throughout the country. April's practice has also included the representation of privately owned developers with respect to commercial real estate transactions in the Midwest and throughout the United States.

Since 2000, April has provided real estate counsel to a military base reuse authority on numerous transactions related to its redevelopment, ownership, operation, management, acquisition, disposition, and leasing of over 470 acres of former military base real estate and facilities, including serving as lead counsel with respect to its redevelopment of the real estate into a master planned mixed-use community.

April also manages the Firm's WBE/MBE Certification Practice where she assists small business owners in obtaining certification as a minority business enterprise, women-owned business enterprise, veteran-owned business enterprise, or disadvantaged business enterprise.

April is originally from Muncie, Indiana, and received her Bachelor of Science in political science from Ball State University. April earned her juris doctorate from Ohio Northern University, where she graduated with high distinction in 1998. While attending law school, she served as an editor on the Law Review Staff.
