Asaka Cadio assists in preparation of immigration petitions and applications to facilitate employment and transfer and retention of key international personnel for various businesses and non-profit organizations.
Asaka joined Ice Miller in 2002. As a senior paralegal in the Firm's Immigration Group, her areas of extensive experience include employment-based permanent residency (green card) process through U.S. Department of Labor's PERM Labor Certification program, including "Special Handling" process for colleges and universities, as well as visa petitions and applications with U.S. Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Department of State for H-1B, TN, L-1A/L-1B, E-1/E-2 and other work authorized visa status, consular processing and all other aspects of business immigration.
Asaka has prior experience in business immigration, serving a number of international businesses throughout the Midwest.
Originally from Fukushima, Japan, Asaka served as a project coordinator at the Mitsubishi Corporation's international headquarters in Tokyo for nearly eight years, working with numerous Japanese companies, Chinese central and state government agencies and Chinese state-owned companies.
She has also worked as a visiting international professional with the Indiana Department of Commerce (now Indiana Economic Development Corporation), assisting the Indiana business community in developing export opportunities in the Asian market.
