Ben Kitto is an associate in the Firm's Municipal Finance Group whose practice focuses on underwriter's counsel and bond counsel work in education and healthcare financings for 501(c)(3) organizations.
Licensed to practice law in Ohio and Indiana, Ben has served as lead associate in underwriter's counsel and bond counsel roles on healthcare and education financings for borrowers or issuers in 18 states totaling more than $1 billion. Representative transactions include locally- and multistate program-issued tax-exempt and taxable bonds and loans for charter schools, independent schools, colleges and universities, senior living communities, nursing homes and long-term care facilities, hospitals, and cultural facilities.
Ben is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers' securities law committee, and has presented to NABL's Bond Attorneys' Workshop on ethics in underwriter's counsel and bond counsel engagements.
Active in the community, Ben is a member of the American Red Cross Ohio Buckeye Region Associate Board and serves College Mentors for Kids as member of its finance committee.
Ben earned his juris doctoris, cum laude, from the Washington University School of Law and his Master of Business Administration from the Olin Business School, and during his studies served as Executive Articles Editor of the Jurisprudence Review, President of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society, and Associate Justice of the Graduate Business Student Association. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Philosophy and Political Science from Indiana University.
