Blaine L. Dirker serves as an attorney in Ice Miller’s Intellectual Property and Data Security and Privacy practices. Blaine’s intellectual property practice focuses on patent drafting and prosecution with an emphasis in the areas of networking related technologies including mobile interfacing technologies, software defined networking, network function virtualization, cloud computing, wireless communication protocols, and the Internet of Things.
As part of Ice Miller’s Data Security and Privacy practice, Blaine counsels clients on various data security and privacy issues dealing with online privacy, vendor contracts and agreements, IT audits, compliance, data breaches, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
Blaine’s experience additionally includes drafting and reviewing licensing agreements, technology related transactions, as well intellectual property protection and enforcement.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Blaine worked as a software engineer for seven years splitting time between Fortune 1000 and start-up companies.
Blaine is a member of the American Bar Association, the Indiana State Bar Association, the Indianapolis Bar Association, and the American Intellectual Property Law Association.
Blaine served in the United States Marine Corps prior to earning his B.S. in Computer Engineering from Purdue University. He earned his J.D. from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law with a concentration in Intellectual Property and his M.B.A. from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.
Blaine is admitted to practice in the state of Indiana and before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana.
