Chris Michael is an associate in the Firm’s Business Group. Chris primarily focuses his practice on complex corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments and transactions and financing transactions involving debt and equity offerings.
Chris has represented and assisted clients across a variety of industries including manufacturing, logistics, business services, financial services, veterinary medicine, information technology, agriculture and professional services.
Chris received his Bachelor of Arts from The Ohio State University in 2006, cum laude, and his juris doctorate in 2010 from the Michigan State University College of Law, magna cum laude, where he served as the associate editor of the Law Review.
Reported and Representative Cases
In September 2011, represented the Ohio Municipal League and Ohio Township Association by successfully arguing a Motion to Dismiss before the Supreme Court of Ohio (6-1 decision) that the Ohio Municipal League and Ohio Township Association were not "public offices" or the "functional equivalent" of a public office for purposes of the Ohio Public Records Act, and as such were not subject to the provisions of the Act
