Emily Kennedy joined Ice Miller in 2001 and is the Asbestos Litigation Practice Group's primary paralegal.
She assists the team of attorneys, paralegals and staff with all aspects of asbestos cases. She assists attorneys with case organization and development; prepares initial drafts of documents for attorney review; tracks and coordinates deadlines and due dates; maintains statistical claim information; helps attorneys prepare for depositions; and provides assistance with client updates and responses to client requests for information. She works and coordinates with outside counsel and courts on a regular basis. She is fluent in French and performs French to English document translation work for Firm clients.
Originally from Indianapolis, Ind., Emily earned her Bachelor of Arts at Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind., majoring in French, political science and economics. As part of her degree program, Emily studied at the Institute of Political Studies, University of Provence in Aix-en-Provence, France during the 1998 to 1999 academic year, earning a Certificate of Political Studies.
Emily led Ice Miller’s team to win the award for most bears donated to the 2016 Indianapolis Bar Association Paralegal Committee Teddy Bear Challenge benefitting the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, the Indianapolis Fire Department, the Indianapolis EMS and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
She and her husband Matthew are raising three children. She is actively involved in her church and volunteers at her children’s school. She leads a Den and serves on the Leadership Committee for her older son’s Cub Scout Pack. In her (limited) spare time, Emily loves to read, travel and practice yoga.
