Eric Shaffer is an attorney in Ice Miller’s Intellectual Property group, where his practice involves both foreign and domestic patent preparation and prosecution in the electrical, semiconductor, LED, wireless telecommunications, computer software, data security, as well as the chemical and pharmaceutical arts; reexamination proceedings; freedom to operate counseling and opinions; IP licensing and valuations; and patent litigation.
In his prior career, Eric served as a patent examiner in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, from 2001 to 2005. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Eric worked at Hewlett-Packard as a software engineer and web developer. He is a veteran of the United States Army.
