Jaren Hagler is an associate in Ice Miller’s Tax Group. His primary concentration is in corporate and partnership tax matters, in which he advises on a variety of state and local income tax issues, including income tax, sales and use tax, and real and personal property tax. Jaren helps clients with regard to tax disputes with the IRS and state department of revenue offices, and property tax offices.
Jaren also advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, international tax, and executive compensation.
In addition, Jaren assists tax-exempt clients on a broad range of issues including corporate formation and governance, achieving tax-exempt status, and lobbying and political activities.
Jaren obtained a Bachelor in Business Administration with a concentration in finance from George Washington University in 2011, graduating cum laude. Jaren attended law school at Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, receiving his juris doctorate in 2014.
While in law school, Jaren externed for Magistrate Judge Donald G. Wilkerson with the U.S. Magistrate Court in the Southern District of Illinois. He also worked as an intern for the St. Louis Equal Housing and Opportunity Council, serving as a mediator for landlord-tenant disputes and evaluating St. Louis area bank compliance with the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA).
Jaren was a summer clerk with Ice Miller in 2013 before joining the Firm as an associate in 2014. He is admitted to practice law in the state of Indiana.
