Kevin R. Knight is a partner in the Indianapolis offce of Ice Miller LLP, where he has been a member of litigation practice groups since starting there in 1992. He represents a diverse assortment of companies in a wide range of litigation, but his practice is concentrated in helping companies resolve lawsuits brought by individuals claiming injuries from implanted medical devices and from alleged exposures to asbestos and other environmental substances.
Kevin has represented defendants in numerous state and federal courts, often in multi-party proceedings like class actions, Multi-District Litigation and multiple plaintiff lawsuits where one complaint is brought by anywhere from a handful to hundreds of plaintiffs.
Kevin represents companies in medical device and other product liability cases, asbestos personal injury lawsuits and mold and other toxic tort claims. Kevin's clients include national and multinational companies. He has practiced in numerous state and federal courts, often defending class action and other multi-party proceedings
Kevin is the author of a note for volume 23 of the Indiana Law Review, 1990. He is also a speaker on topics ranging from products liability and drug and medical device litigation to asbestos and other toxic torts claims,
Born in Fort Wayne, Ind., Kevin graduated with honors from St. Francis College, Ft. Wayne, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in business administration in 1983. He obtained his juris doctorate from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, graduating magna cum laude in 1990. While in law school, Kevin received American Jurisprudence Awards for Torts II and Criminal Procedure I. He was elected to the Moot Court: Order of the Barristers and served as articles editor for Indiana Law Review.
Kevin served as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert H. Staton, Indiana Court of Appeals, before joining Ice Miller in 1992. He is admitted to practice law in the state of Indiana.
Kevin enjoys tackling and resolving the problems his clients face in the litigation world. In his free time, Kevin enjoys tackling his dog, a Golden Doodle named Blitzen, and resolving home improvement projects without sustaining serious injuries. He loves running and has competed (well, finished) in multiple marathons, half-marathons and long-distance relays. He enjoys all sorts of music and leads the congregation in songs at his church. While he is in the Indianapolis office weekly, Kevin actually lives just outside Louisville, Ky., with his wife, Lisa. He doesn't mind the weekly, short commute to Indianapolis, and Lisa enjoys the relative peace and quiet for a few days.
