Marc represents employers of all types on matters relating to their employee benefit and executive compensation programs. He assists employers ranging from small professional corporations to large multi-national companies in structuring and administering retirement, health, equity compensation and various other types of benefit and incentive compensation programs. He also represents employers in disputes involving their benefit plans, with such disputes ranging from individual benefit claims to large class actions involving complex tax and fiduciary issues.
Marc has worked with a number of private and public employers to establish incentive compensation programs for investment professionals. In addition, he regularly works with employers, including universities and university systems, in establishing incentive compensation and retirement programs for key management and other highly compensated employees.
Marc works with the compensation committees of larger employers to assure that their compensation policies and programs are appropriate, effective and efficient. He also assists publicly-traded companies in complying with the special tax and securities laws and rules that apply to their executive compensation programs.
Marc was born in Elkhart, Ind. In addition to his undergraduate studies in comparative literature at Brown University, he studied Latin American literature and creative writing in Cochabamba, Bolivia.
Marc joined Ice Miller in 1989 and is licensed to practice law in the state of Indiana.
Marc has written articles on a wide variety of employee benefit issues for Indiana Business, Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum, the America Conference Institute, the Indiana and Indianapolis Bar Associations, National Center for Employee Ownership, and a variety of legal and trade publications.
