Michael Leinauer is a member of Ice Miller's Litigation and Intellectual Property Group.
Michael has experience in the mechanical and electrical arts with an emphasis on drafting, prosecuting and licensing domestic and foreign patent applications related to medical devices including surgical equipment, implants and ostomy devices; turbine engines; turbine, wind and solar energy systems; HVAC systems; additive manufacturing/3D printing; electrical components and connectors; and consumer products.
He has managed patent, trademark and copyright portfolios for clients ranging from entrepreneurs to Fortune 100 companies. He works very closely with startup businesses to meet their Intellectual Property and business needs. His work also includes the preparation of various contracts including licensing agreements, sale agreements and contractor and subscontractor agreements. Michael has extensive experience providing due diligence for the acquisition and sale of Intellectual Property. He has utilized his due diligence experince to develop Intellectual Property Auditing Services at Ice Miller. These services are designed to gauge the health of his client’s Intellectual Porperty portfolio on an annual basis to smooth the way for future transactions and/or enforcement/defense of IP. Additionally, he has experience with litigation support in the field of Intellectual Property.
Michael also stays active outside of the office through his support of such organizations as the IndyBar Association and Indiana State Bar Association IP Sections, Fishers Youth Hockey; Rythmic Gymnastics of Indiana, Fishers-Hamilton Southeastern Youth Baseball, the Storytelling Arts of Indiana and Holy Spirit at Geist Catholic Church.
