Nancy Menard Riddle is Senior Counsel in the Litigation and Intellectual Property Group. Nancy's primary practice concentration is litigation, with a focus on the defense of pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, toxic tort litigation, medical malpractice, risk management and general liability.

Nancy has been involved in the defense of mass tort product liability litigation, including cases subject to multi-district litigation proceedings. Her work has included identification, evaluation and preparation of expert witnesses, review of medical and scientific literature and analysis of labeling and marketing issues. She has researched and drafted dispositive pleadings, including issues of federal preemption and expert evidence.

Nancy joined Ice Miller in 1990. Prior to that, she was in private practice in Champaign, Ill., and served as a law clerk to the Honorable Frederick S. Green, Illinois Court of Appeals, 4th District.

Nancy received her juris doctor, with honors, in 1976 from the University of Illinois College of Law and was a member of Order of the Coif. During law school, she was a member of Law Forum and as a senior law student, she provided legal services through the Champaign County State Attorney's Office, pursuant to Rule 711 of the Rules Governing the Legal Profession and Judiciary in Illinois. Nancy was born in Kankakee, Ill., and attended Northern Illinois University where she graduated summa cum laude in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science in education, with a major in social studies and a minor in history. She was a member of MortarBoard, national senior honorary.

She is admitted to practice in the states of Indiana and Illinois, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, and the U.S. District Courts for the Central and Southern Districts of Illinois.
