Ice Miller to File Comments on Proposed Regulations and Plan Amendments

As we have done in the past with regard to federal regulations and guidance of interest to governmental plans and employers, Ice Miller is planning to file comments with regard to two major pieces of guidance next month.

The Department of Labor has issued proposed regulations on compliance with the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA), which is available at http://a257.g.akamaitech.net/7/257/2422/06jun20041800/edocket.access.gpo.gov/2004/pdf/04-20844.pdf. Ice Miller is planning on submitting comments to the DOL regarding the benefit provisions of the proposed regulations. The Internal Revenue Service has issued proposed model plan amendments for 457(b) governmental deferred compensation plans, which are available at http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-drop/rp-04-56.pdf. Ice Miller is planning on submitting comments to the IRS with respect to these proposed plan amendments.
