When Bosses Go Wild: Bullying in the Workplace - David Carr

A presentation on the current status of workplace civility obligations. This discussion will focus on where the law is, and where it is going, in terms of "bullying" in the workplace. Already, across the country, courts are being asked to intervene in situations involving coarse or harsh conduct in the workplace. What are the rights of employees, and employers, in these situations?

Beyond Bullying: Dealing with Violence at Work - Paul Sinclair

"'He was a 'Sweet Guy' Who Saved His Coworkers" -- that's a recent newspaper headline describing a man who took four bullets in the chest from a lone gunman who was trying to shoot his coworkers. Employers are becoming more sensitive to bullying in the workplace and engage in significant efforts to stop behaviors before they become violent. But can employers do anything when actual violence is threatened? This session will explore the law and options employers have when violence is threatened, placing significant emphasis on workplace violence protective orders and the new 'Bring Your Gun to Work' law."
