Title IX/Gender Equity

More than 75 percent of American colleges and universities are not in compliance with Title IX, the federal legislation requiring gender equity in athletic programs. Ice Miller helps colleges, universities and primary and secondary schools understand and comply with the requirements of Title IX. Our compliance assessment includes the following four steps:

• Comprehensive audit of school’s athletic program, including a written opinion of the school’s compliance with Title IX
  
• Course of action, including development of a written plan to achieve gender equity
  
• Educational sessions in which we provide school administrators with an overview of Title IX
  
• Ongoing evaluations to chart school’s progress and monitor issues as they arise.
