Infectious Waste

Infectious waste, also known as medical waste, is regulated by a number of different federal, state, and local agencies. Those companies that are subject to these regulations include medical waste incinerators, hospitals, doctors' and dentists' offices, long term health care facilities, schools, most manufacturing and even service industries. Ice Miller has assisted health care facilities and non-health care facilities in meeting its obligations under the various regulatory schemes. For instance, we have assisted hospitals in establishing and updating their blood borne pathogens program and determining how independent contractors are covered.
