Affirmative Action/Government Contractor Compliance
Companies that enter into contracts with the federal government or an agency of the federal government, or that have subcontracts with a federal contractor, are required to comply with various affirmative action regulations. Recent changes to federal contractor obligations include the mandatory use of E-Verify, changes to racial and ethnic categories for government reports, clarification of the definition of an applicant, and regulations related to the mandatory employment of veterans. In addition, some states have affirmative action requirements for companies that enter into contracts with the state or its agencies. We are prepared to assist companies in determining what affirmative action obligations they have, if any. We can also help companies meet their affirmative action obligations through preparing affirmative action plans; training the appropriate personnel on affirmative action obligations and plan preparation; representing the company in governmental audits; developing proper administrative procedures; advising and assisting in the completion of required reports to the government, such as the EEO-1 and the VETS-100; and self-auditing the company's compliance efforts and compensation structure.
