GOVERNANCE AND LEGISLATIVE SERVICES

Our Collegiate Sports Practice has extensive experience with and detailed knowledge of the NCAA structure, decision-making process and related issues. We offer the following services:

We organize and summarize reaction and comments to legislative proposals.

We evaluate communications systems and develop practical recommendations for improvements.

Timely and Concise Executive Summaries and Position Papers
We draft papers regarding specified issues upon request. These documents will be tailored specifically to your needs, ready for distribution to your colleagues and membership and suitable for circulation through the governance structure. Summaries of key items for distribution to presidents are also available.

Strategic Guidance for Advancing Issues Through the NCAA Governance Structure
We focus on identifying and tracking key policy issues, developing appropriate strategies to advance positions and producing clear and concise summary reports.

Meeting Preparation
We develop issues summaries prior to and following NCAA meetings, provide strategic guidance for conference representatives to NCAA governing entities and assist with preparatory conference calls.

Track and Compile Voting Records
We prepare summaries of conference voting records for roll call votes at Division I Management Council and Board of Directors meetings.

NCAA Committee Vacancies and Governance Appointments
We identify vacancies in a timely manner and assist with legislative requirements and coordinating nominations.

Division/Subdivision Membership Criteria
We analyze membership criteria and the impact on conference and institutional membership status and championship automatic qualification.
