  • Monitoring of recruiting activities;
  • Certification of student-athlete eligibility; and
  • Monitoring of student-athlete financial aid.

Special areas of consideration that the compliance assessment will focus on include:

  • Amateurism/Agents/Gambling;
  • Academic Fraud;
  • Booster Organizations/issues;
  • Camps and Clinics;
  • Coaching Limits/ Outside Income Reporting;
  • Complimentary Admissions;
  • Promotional Activities;
  • Student-Athlete Employment;
  • Student-Athlete Car Registration;
  • Basketball Event and Certification Forms; and
  • International Student-Athlete Issues.

Ice Miller's Collegiate Sports Practice performs the compliance assessment by conducting interviews, reviewing and analyzing documents and records maintained by the college or university, and reviewing and analyzing existing compliance monitoring systems. At the conclusion of the compliance assessment, a confidential report will be developed in consultation with the athletics department administration. After a preliminary review by appropriate persons the report will be delivered to the college or university. The report will detail in a mutually agreed upon format the assessment process, findings and recommendations.
