Lindsay Miller and Greg Dunn to Speak at Net Inclusion Conference

As part of the Net Inclusion 2018 conference, Ice Miller’s Lindsay Miller and Greg Dunn will speak on “Creating Intelligent Communities: Local Government Strategies in Action” from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April  17. Their session will focus on the Internet of Things (IoT) and its impact on cities.


Heather James to Represent Ice Miller at Fall 2018 Diversity in Law Hackathon Series

Ice Miller partner Heather James will represent Ice Miller at the Fall 2018 Diversity in Law Hackathon Series beginning July 12-13, 2018 in Chicago. Heather will participate in the pitch competition featuring 105 high-level law firm partners and legal department leaders from across the country. The goal of the competition is to increase diversity and inclusion in law firms and legal departments.

Kim will present “Cybersecurity and the Internet of (Health) Things: How IoT Devices are ‘Transforming’ Provider IT Networks” as part of the “Director Track” on Tuesday, April 24 at 10:30 a.m.

On March 22, the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association (APALSA) held its 13th Annual Origins Banquet. Founded in 2005 by Ice Miller partner Reena R. Bajowala, the Banquet celebrates Asian Pacific American diversity and culture at the University of Michigan Law School and in the legal profession. In addition, the APALSA awards its George Ariyoshi Fellowship at the Banquet each year.



New Economic Census Shows Franchising is a Growing Business Concept

The U.S. Census Bureau, for the first time, included franchising data and information in its Economic Census. The data shows franchises are vital to many industries in our economy, providing further proof that the franchise business model is growing.
