Ice Miller recently worked with Indy Pride to help professionals bring their full, authentic selves to work. Together, Ice Miller and Indy Pride presented Career Support for LGBTQ+ Professionals on August 21, 2019.
The event provided professional headshots, interviewing tips, resume reviews and advice on maintaining a professional reputation on social media to support the career advancement of LGBTQ+ professionals.
In addition to offering career advancement tools, the event also featured a panel of successful LGBTQ+ professionals in Indianapolis sharing the personal triumphs and tribulations they have faced in the workforce. The panel included Kristen Matha, Ice Miller’s Director of Diversity and Inclusion; Larry K. Stribling, an HR Generalist at Cummins and Tristan Vaught, Director of Education and Training for Living with Change.
Indy Pride, a non-profit organization, seeks to unite and serve members of the LGBTQ+ community of Central Indiana through leadership development, educational programs and community events, which achieve inclusivity, equality, strong community connections and awareness of LGBTQ+ issues.
Ice Miller is not only committed to recruiting, developing and retaining talented attorneys and professional staff from all backgrounds, but also to achieving a more diverse and inclusive workforce. In 2019, Ice Miller earned a 100% on Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 17th Annual Scorecard on LGBTQ Workplace Equality.
