Erik Long, a partner in Ice Miller’s Public Finance Group, is a finalist for the College Mentors for Kids 2019 Inspire Awards. The awards luncheon will be hosted Feb. 21 at 12 p.m. at the Indiana Roof Ballroom.

College Mentors for Kids, a youth mentoring nonprofit organization, hosts the Inspire Awards as a way to celebrate mentoring in the workplace and community. A Mentor of the Year is selected from each of the seven industry categories to recognize an individual for the difference he or she has made in the careers and lives of others through support, advice and guidance.

Erik is one of the five finalists in the Accounting, Legal and Finance category. The other categories include Business, Retail & Hospitality; Communications, Entertainment and Athletics; Construction, Engineering and Technology; Education, Government and Nonprofit; Health & Science and Youth Mentoring.

Erik Long serves public school corporations, higher education institutions, libraries and other political subdivisions on a wide variety of municipal finance transactions as a partner in the Firm’s Public Finance Group. His transactional experience includes new money financings for capital projects and refunding transactions, all through the issuance of general obligation bonds, lease financings, revenue bonds and tax anticipation warrants.
