Ice Miller attorney Heather Adams presented “An ADA Update,” a webinar sponsored by The National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel (NARTC) on February 13.
The webinar provided an overview of the current legal landscape of American Disability Act (ADA) compliance. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission continues to see more and more ADA claims as a result of new legal developments such as interactive process issues, complicated accommodation problems and concerns regarding fitness for duty and other medical exams. Current events, such as website accessibility and the legalization of marijuana in several states, further complicate how employers respond to ADA claims. During the webinar, Heather addressed all of these new legal developments to provide a thorough ADA update for employers and counsel.
