Make-A-Wish Honors Kristina Tridico at Women Inspiring Strength and Hope Program

Partner Kristina Tridico was among 16 women honored in the second Women Inspiring Strength and Hope (W.I.S.H.) program. This program, hosted by Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, honors women who have found success in their careers and made significant contributions to their community through the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The W.I.S.H. honorees for 2017 were recognized at a celebration luncheon on March 15 at the downtown Indianapolis Conrad.

Kristina raised over $10,000 for Make-A-Wish. Her initial goal was to raise $8,000 for her “wish kid” Max, a child from Carmel, Ind. who suffers from a rare kidney disease. Max dreams of traveling to Detroit to see the penguins, and Kristina’s fundraising efforts will help make his trip a reality.

In order to raise funds for Make-A-Wish, Kristina coordinated a snack sale at her daughter’s elementary school and a CycleBar fundraiser in Carmel. Her friends, family and Firm were largely involved in her fundraising efforts. Kristina also worked with a local radio 99.5 WZPL’s 20th Annual Request-A-Thon fundraiser, where she answered phones and took donations. As the mother of a child the same age as Max, Kristina felt very connected to Max’s story and also said she wanted to show her children the way they could make a difference.

Kristina became involved with Make-A-Wish this year after being inspired by the stories she saw from her client, MISO, which donates to Make-A-Wish as a company. Also, Ice Miller partner Kay Pashos was an inaugural honoree of the W.I.S.H. program last year, and she encouraged Kristina to take over fundraising efforts.

“Seeing the stories of the wish kids on the wall at MISO… It’s so inspiring to see how many wishes they need to grant,” Kristina said.

By surpassing her goal, Kristina is able to grant not just Max’s wish, but contribute to other children’s wish funds as well. The Make-A-Wish Foundation helps improve the quality of life for children diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions by working with donors to grant their wishes. Kristina’s group is raising money for Indiana wish kids through its Crowdrise account. They are accepting donations.

Kristina is a partner in Ice Miller’s Business and Health Care groups. In her corporate practice, Kristina represents companies in connection with asset sales and acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures and stock transactions. Kristina also represents both entities and individuals on environmental matters. She works in environmental, natural resources and sustainability law, as well as general administrative agency practice.
