In today’s rapidly changing world, a diverse team that sees challenges from different perspectives and cultural references drives creativity and fuels innovation. And the representation of women at all levels of leadership is critical when seeking to leverage diversity to gain a competitive advantage.

The Ice Miller Women’s Initiative Committee hosted a table for attorneys and clients at the Indiana Conference for Women on November 8 in Indianapolis. Attendees had the opportunity to network with a diverse group of women in a variety of professional backgrounds. Guests heard from speakers on topics ranging from navigating the modern workplace and the importance of mentorship to networking in a hyper-connected world and prioritizing their passions and work.

Ice Miller maintains a long-standing commitment to supporting and advancing women. Ice Miller is recognized for its family-friendly policies that help to eliminate traditional barriers for working women and mothers and help retain women attorneys and advance them into the leadership pipeline. The Firm now provides a breastmilk shipping program through Milk Stork to ensure nursing mothers are able to care for their children while traveling for business. In 2018, Ice Miller announced an extended gender-neutral parental leave policy and back-up child and elder care program. The Firm is proud of its 2018 Gold Standard Certification by the Women in Law Empowerment.

The Firm’s Women’s Initiative works to enhance personal and professional development for women and create opportunities for engagement in targeted business development activities. The group meets and communicates regularly to brainstorm ways to stay engaged with educational and professional training and networking opportunities. Men at the Firm also serve on the committee and their participation is critical to advancing solutions for the challenges women face in the workplace and other barriers in society.
