Employee Benefits Group partner Chris Sears serves as a private sector faculty member for the American Law Institute Continuing Legal Education’s annual advanced course for Employee Benefit Plans of Tax-Exempt and Governmental Employers in Washington, D.C.

Chris will present “Government Plans Update” at 11:45 a.m. on October 24 with Jessica Palvino, the Chief Operations Officer of Legal & Compliance for Teacher Retirement Systems of Texas. The presentation will cover the current status of “pick-up” rules, de facto cash-or-deferred arrangement issues, determining bona fide terminations of employment, new governmental plan litigation and other new developments.

This year’s conference will address the latest developments impacting benefits plans designed for the public and nonprofit sectors.
