Job Description:

The Application Analyst’s role is to plan, design, develop, and launch assigned applications in support of core organization functions.  The analyst will apply communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve systems issues in order to maximize technology investments. The employee must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and maintain strict confidentiality due to the nature of the position.

Essential Job Duties:

Planning & Deployment

•Software Project Analysis

  • Participate in the planning, design, development, and distribution of new applications and enhancements to existing applications.  
  • Emphasis on cloud (SaaS or IaaS) applications is critical.
  • Conduct research into software application products and services in support of development efforts.
  • Provide support for the testing of new and existing software applications under development.

•Integrations

  • Ensure compatibility and interoperability of applications both inside and outside the firm.
  • Integration of applications using varying secure means.

•Strategy and Architecture

  • Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing solutions and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging current and future applications.

Operational Management

•Administration

  • Maintain and enhance performance of all new and existing software and applications across the organization.
  • Field incoming problem tickets from end users to resolve application and software issues within servers, databases, and other mission-critical systems.
  • Test fixes and perform post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems have been adequately resolved.
  • Post software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and frequently asked questions resources on company intranet to assist in problem resolution.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, including the installation of service packs, patches, hot fixes, anti-virus software, and so on.
  • Apply diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting.

•Knowledge Management and Documentation

  • Identify and learn appropriate software applications used and supported by the organization. 
  • Document processes and procedures related to applications that are maintained and administered by the analyst. 
  • Maintain relevance of firm documentation and knowledge pertaining to maintained applications.  Ensure that as company procedures change, application documentation is updated to suit.

•Collaboration and Training

  • Coordinate with department heads to assess departmental application training needs and objectives.
  • Participate in the design, development, and delivery of software applications training programs and individual classes.
  • Communicate application problems and issues to key stakeholders, including management, development teams, end users, and unit leaders.

Minimum Requirements:

•Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field required or 5 years of equivalent combination of education and work experience.

•Strong general knowledge of the Microsoft Windows operating systems (PC and Server) including all administration-level functions.

•Extensive experience managing or administering enterprise-wide database driven software.

•SaaS or IaaS solution architecture experience is preferred.  Experience migrating applications from data center to Azure or AWS hosting also preferred.

•Experience with T-SQL, SSRS, Power BI or other report design and visualization tools.

•Experience supporting functional vertical technologies in Accounting, HR, Marketing a plus.

•Experience with requirements gathering and software testing especially for applications used across cross-functional organizations and groups.

•Experience with Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel proficiency.

•Previous experience in the legal industry or professional services a plus

•Excellent customer service and communication skills a must.
