Job Description:
The Director of Benefits and Compensation is responsible for leading the benefits, compensation functions as well as providing support for staff employee relations efforts for the Firm. This person should have the capability to develop plans and implement systems and processes that meet all state and federal laws.  The person must have the ability to maintain strict confidentiality due to the nature of the job.  
Essential Duties:
•Oversee the Benefits Program, lead open enrollment sessions, and conduct an annual re-evaluation of the program and policies for effectiveness and adherence to new laws and regulations 
•Liaise with Firm Management, vendors and investment committee regarding benefit selection, implementation, and communication
•Stay abreast of HR best practices and make recommendations for improvement
•Ensure compliance with federal, state and local compensation laws and regulations for benefit and compensation plans
•Liaise with Firm management and vendors to develop the compensation system, ensuring that all positions adhere to the FLSA, are tested for bias, and have competitive salary bands
•Act as a compensation business partner, strategic solution provider and expert advisor to business and people leaders by combining in-depth knowledge of compensation principles, understanding of the business and market landscape and detailed analysis/models
•Perform proactive data and analytics to support various compensation assessment initiatives and provide recommendations to HR and business leadership
•Manage compensation programs such as merit planning and bonus pay administration
•Effectively train leaders and colleagues in compensation practices and policies
•Assesses jobs and their respective duties to determine classifications and appropriate salary ranges for the workforce
•Assist with employee relations issues, including investigations, performance improvement plans, write-ups, terminations, and separation agreements
•Oversees the participation in salary surveys and monitors salary survey data to ensure corporate compensation objectives are achieved
•Provides advice to firm staff and leadership including Accounting on pay decisions, policy interpretations, and job evaluations
Minimum Requirements:
•Bachelor's Degree in an HR or related field preferred; High School Diploma required 
•Minimum of 8 to 10 years of human resources experience, preferably generalist experience
•Ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks including resolving complaints and counseling managers and employees on the interpretation of policies
•Ability to prepare written reports, correspondences, and presentations to executive staff and other Firm personnel as needed
•Ability to build and maintain positive relationships internally and externally
•Extensive knowledge of applicable state and federal employment laws and governmental compliance requirements; knowledge of immigration laws and processes a plus
•Excellent written and verbal communications skills
•Ability to perform essential job duties
