Financial Analyst

Job Description:
The Financial Analyst will be responsible for compiling, analyzing and reporting the financial performance of the Firm's practice groups and departmental operating units. The employee must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive materials and maintain strict confidentiality due to the nature of the position.

Essential Job Duties: 
•Formulate and refine short and long-term financial goals for each practice group/department through consultation with practice group chairs, department directors, and administrative staff
•Monitor financial performance of individual departments and the firm as a whole and work with Practice Group Leaders to implement corrective actions based on analysis
•Create monthly financial statements by consolidating accounting data and providing written interpretation of results
•Analyze monthly financial statements to determine proper charging of operating revenues and expenditures in accordance with departmental procedures
•Provide analytical, forecasting, reporting and project support to senior management and attorneys
•Produce monthly reports which include key metrics, financial results and variance reporting
•Spearhead annual capital and operating budget processes and maintain budgeting software
•Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and financial dashboards
•Perform market research, data mining and business intelligence by completing and analyzing benchmarking surveys
•Identify areas of improvement for financial systems and processes

Minimum Requirements:
•Bachelor's degree in Accounting or other related field
•One or more years of experience in financial analysis or related accounting area
•Previous experience in the legal industry a plus
•Proficient in Microsoft Office products especially Excel 
•Ability to multi-task and effectively manage time
•Must have strong attention to detail
•Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to prioritize duties and use good judgment
•Strong interpersonal skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively with a diverse group of people, both on the phone and in person. Must be able to work with individuals at all levels of the organization
•Must be able to perform all essential duties
