Pricing Analyst

Job Description:
The Pricing Analyst will be responsible for tracking marketplace metrics and trends and analyzing how pricing strategies relate to the Firm’s competitors. The employee must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive materials, and maintain strict confidentiality due to the nature of the position.

Essential Job Duties: 
•Analyze the profitability of various fee agreements
•Manage the firm’s selection of alternative fees options and provide pricing solutions
•Monitor the intake of new matters to ensure all financial requirements are documented
•Maintain a database of client and matter fee arrangements
•Monitor performance against negotiated fee agreements
•Identify trends and issues with performance in relation to practice group profitability and client fee agreements 
•Manage information related to the firm’s economic goals and monitor progress
•Advise billing partners on pricing options for legal services and the most beneficial and profitable option for their clients
•Provide pricing analysis for the Chief Operating Officer, Chief Pricing Officer, and Director of Finance
•Perform margin and pricing analysis in order to support Firm initiatives  
•Validate pricing quotes for accuracy and profitability 
•Develop a system of communication, documentation and review of internal and external comparative pricing data
•Identify opportunities to optimize profitability 
•Prepare cost and pricing models in order to demonstrate additional pricing options for attorneys and clients 
•Work with surveys and compare results with other Firms to determine best practices
•Analyze monthly financial statements to determine areas for increased profitability
•Manage projects assigned by the Chief Operating Officer and accounting management
•Monitor financial performance of individual departments and work with the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Pricing Officer to implement corrective actions based on analysis
•Travel to other Ice Miller locations to meet with Practice Group Leaders and Supervisors to discuss pricing options for clients

Minimum Requirements:
•Bachelor degree in an accounting related field required
•Understanding of general accounting principles 
•Previous experience in the legal industry a plus
•Proficient in Microsoft Office products
•Advanced in Microsoft Excel 
•Must be able to utilize technology to streamline and improve processes
•Excellent reporting and analytical skills 
•Able to scrutinize data and stay up to date on relative market data 
•Ability to multi-task and effectively manage time
•Must have strong attention to detail
•Ability to work collaboratively with a team as well as independently with minimal supervision and to prioritize duties and use good judgment
•Strong interpersonal skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively with a diverse group of people, both on the phone and in person. Must be able to work with individuals at all levels of the organization
•Must be able to perform all essential duties
