Job Description:
Under the direct supervision and guidance of the Pricing Manager, the Strategic Pricing and Profitability Analyst will assist with a wide range of finance operational responsibilities and play a leading role in driving and reinforcing profitability goals.  The employee must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive materials and maintain strict confidentiality due to the nature of the position.
Essential Job Duties: 
-Trusted Businses Advisor

•Develop into a subject matter expert in the firm’s profitability application and provide consultation and analytic insight to stakeholders that allow them to advance profitability goals meaningfully
•Play an essential role in further developing and evangelizing the firm’s profitability initiatives that seek to achieve profitability goals and that are within the firm’s guidelines
•Coach attorneys and business development professionals on strategic pricing options and profitability levers in sessions that are one-on-one, in a group setting, or recorded for training purposes
•Model pricing scenarios and communicate the risks, opportunities, and projected outcomes that derive from various billing arrangements
•Play an active and participatory role in crafting a response that meets the client’s pricing objectives as stated in a Request for Proposal (RFP) or Request for Information (RFI)
•Research and analyze profitability and realization trends by practice group, client fee agreement, and billing attorney with an express ability to convey findings to a broad group of personnel with varying degrees of financial comprehension
•Compile ad hoc profit margin and pricing analyses into clearly and concisely crafted reports and visuals that permit the requestor to digest the information seamlessly. 
•Assess client or attorney proposals for accuracy and acceptable realization and profitability margins
•Demonstrate strong business partnering by participating in and leading pricing and profitability discussions that rely on data sets and expert analysis supporting the annual client fee agreement renewal process. 
•Research industry benchmarks and economic trends to identify pricing and profitability trends and opportunities for commercial improvements
•Interpret competitive intelligence data to propose comparable timekeeper rates given the input variables.
-Strategic Pricing and Profitability Team Operational Excellence
•Participate in opportunities to develop best practices that rely on standardization and automation with an eye toward improving and streamlining the internal customer user experience
•Work in a positive, collaborative and professional team environment that seeks to continuously improve enterprise-wide methodologies and processes by maximizing the myriad of advanced processing capabilities that the firm’s financial systems and tools offer
•Continually work to ensure quality and accuracy of work product and take actionable approaches to drive operational excellence
•Monitor the intake of new matters to ensure the appropriate rates are implemented and client fee agreement is archived accordingly 
•Catalog alternative fee agreement options and monitor performance against negotiated fee agreements
•Play an integral role in coordinating the annual review of client and matter rate agreements by ensuring timekeeper rates and client fee agreements are implemented timely and accurately in the firm’s financial system application
•Generate complex recurring reports and seek to refine the reporting approach to achieve increased efficiencie
•Manage projects assigned by the Chief Operating Officer and other members of the Business Services management team. 
Minimum Requirements: 
•Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred 
•Understanding of general accounting principles inclusive of well-developed mathematical and analytical skills. 
•Previous experience in the legal industry a plus
•Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel 
•Able to scrutinize granular data and extract summarized and meaningful findings
•Ability to multi-task and effectively manage time
•Must have strong attention to detail
•Ability to work collaboratively with a team as well as independently with minimal supervision and to prioritize duties and use good judgment
•Strong interpersonal skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively with a diverse group of people, both on the phone and in person. Must be able to work with individuals at all levels of the organization
•After-hours and weekend work will be required on occasion as the workload requires
•Must be able to perform all essential duties
