Job Description:

Job Summary: 

The Transaction Specialist will be responsible for coordinating and running crucial elements of each Real Estate Group LIHTC transaction, among other transactions as needed. The Transaction Specialist must be a self- motivated individual capable of working in a fast-paced environment with time sensitive materials, interact well with clients, have strong organizational and project management skills and maintain strict confidentiality due to the nature of the position. 

 

For New York Applicants: Salary in the range of $77,000 – $103,000 dependent on experience level.


Essential Job Duties: 

•Run all of the pre and post-closing logistics for the Real Estate team
•Communicate with lender’s counsel, title company, and clients to determine day-of-closing needs, such as the number of signature pages needed, where to send the signature pages, and other critical closing requirements
•Liaise with clients to determine their availability to sign documents and assist attorneys with meeting client needs
•Provide assistance with gathering authority documents from secretary of state websites
•Compile fully executed, final documents 
•Prepare closing binders in a timely manner, including communicating with third parties in a professional manner to locate missing documents 
•Liaise with attorneys to develop a master list of client preferences and contracts at title companies, clients, and other third parties 
•Coordinate the population of various transaction checklists, including tracking each transaction through closing and any post-closing tasks
•Understand various state and local tax credits and related subsidies, including mastery of the application process
•Engagement with state tax credit agencies, including tracking various state agency allocation plans
 

Minimum Requirements:

•Bachelor degree preferred or equal combination of work experience 
•Previous work experience working in a professional services environment a plus
•Prior experience independently managing projects in a high volume setting
•Previous work experience in real estate or with a financial institution a plus
•Excellent organizational and clerical skills and knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation 
•Exceptional client service skills in person, over the phone and via email
•Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work independently and proactively
•Computer proficient, intermediate or advanced experience using Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
•Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of professionals 
•Must be able to perform all essential duties
